Over 100 vessels are expected to parade past the Village Dock and receive blessings from area clergy and salutes from elected officials, yacht club commodores and Coast Guard as we commence another boating season.

US Coast Guard Response Boat, Coast Guard Auxiliary Patrol Facilities, the Northport Fire Department Fire Boat, a 60 foot tug boat and 41 foot training vessels from the US Merchant Marine Academy are expected to join working fishing boats for all to tour and see at the Village Dock.

Opportunities to try your hand at lifesaving skills (including man-over-board life ring tosses), a marine life touch tank, presentations on shellfish restoration and oyster gardening, the Huntington Blueway, fishing and water quality are planned again this year. Plus “Rain-Gutter Regatta” for younger sailors!

A full range of music will waft from the Village Park’s Gazebo setting the festive atmosphere with a featured presentation by the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Band.

Entries from Northport’s leading restaurants will vie for top honors as Northport’s Best Chowder! Four local breweries are invited again to vie for Best Maritime Brews.

There’s a wide range of opportunities to serve as part of Team Coast Guard including Public Education, Boater Safety, Environmental and Surface (on-the-water) missions to direct support to active duty Coast Guard at Station Eaton’s Neck.

Representatives and cadets from our nation’s leading institutions have been invited to stand ready to answer your questions and share their experiences. Look for the US Coast Guard Academy, the US Merchant Marine Academy & SUNY Maritime who have been invited once more.
